Well Done AGAIN, JAY. Man, if I had the spare $$$, that laser would be hangin' on my key-ring ASAP. GREAT JOB on the host. TITANIUM IS A BIATCH to work with, but you sure did a fine job machining that host. Chalk up ANOTHER KEEPER for JAY, +1 REPZ, rob

Thanks Rob!

eytyxhs, not sure where to source the host these days.

Last time I checked, lighthound did not carry them any longer...

If you can find one, I can drill it out and stuff, but I don't offer a 'Hot' option for this one, because the diode must be mounted first in this build, and then the other components installed. And I don't sell complete lasers or even diodes...

i really really admire your work , your job is amazing , you should see my first build , it was as big as twice as 8 aa batterys :D , it was an initial build, I am running it on a lm317 driver so i needed at least 7.5 voltage, any how i didn't know that there is was another way to power it professionally, how would a 2ohms 1 watt resistor limit the current to the diode ?? what is the voltage rate the battery producing ? , and don't you need a certain capacitance with voltage rated capacitor ? , another question ..., you think your job could be converted to the famous housing in here

.. but with a little more axis aluminum heatsink ?
I really appreciate if you would reply with certain 4 answers without forgetting any question :D :D
thanks a lot

Quite honestly, it's not really a proper way to drive the diode...

It's just making it work without a driver in order to fit this tiny host.

The battery is small, and the diode is very tough. So with direct drive, the sag of the voltage under load does not kill the diode. The other two components are just help with possibly voltage spikes, but these diodes have been run direct to a small Li-Ion with nothing but wire.

Always use a driver if you have room!
