I'll second that. I'd love to add this to my collection, but with Christmas expenses and car repairs, I'm not sure I could do it.
Then of course there is that entire "smart switch" thing. I'm pretty sure that would annoy me pretty quickly.
True Dat^^^
BUT since the purpose it to make it harmless in the hands of the wrong person, if it were too easy that would also be a problem.
At SELEM I let all who wanted (Daguin, Pontiag5, aryntha, Qumefox et al) try out the Smart Switch. They had mixed reactions.. most got the hang of it w/o much practice , one (IIRC Rocket) got it right away and could do it almost every time.
I have done it with 7 out of 7 tries once. But it still sometimes it takes me more than one try.
In fact JETLASER has now modified the code to make it even easier to enter in the new model.
However, I doubt that one could send this PL-D back for modification for free, unless it stopped working completely.
Gray tells me that the LEDs that stay on in 'standby' do not draw very much from the battery. In standby it comes back on wih one press every time. So its not like you will have to enter the code correctly when in the rest cycle. Whomever buys this can rest assured that all the support needed to learn the proper code will be provided by JETL Gray and /or me. Its a little more complicated than simply pressing 3-1-1. Why, I have no clue, but it seems to be in the timing of the entering. It seems that too fast or slow will not work. You just need to get the feel for it. JETL has a vid on YOUTube showing how to do it. And I have a thread here as well. It was only annoying at first.

I actually like the fact that if it ever gets stolen the thief will not get to enjoy it.

..at least until they do thier homework.---lol
