This is one interesting scam... Well hopefully he doesn't pick it up then it will return to me :D

I hope so! :) What is the policy if no one picks it up? Return to sender?

This is a fairly common type of scam. They steal an identity and have the package shipped to the fake address in the hopes that the postman will give it to them outside the house or leave it on the doorstep, thereby leaving no paper trail.
Shipping with signature confirmation usually makes the scam fail since it is unlikely the postman will accept the signature of someone just standing outside the house without them showing ID - plus they will have trouble disputing your charge if they sign for having received the package.

Well if that's his scam then it's pretty pointless, he makes nothing out of it & I make nothing out of it, he just wasts our time...

But it's his PayPal verified adress so I don't know if it's that type of scam, anyways hoping I can get it back & let PayPal give him his money as I don't want to deal with this anymore.

Jesus AnthoT! I think youre doing something wrong with your PP dealings! If they closed/blocked my account I certainly wouldnt let them keep my money. You should demand to know under what grounds and speak to someone senior to get it resolved. They cant just lock your money away with no recourse! If they have a reason they must prove it and if they cant, they have no right to keep it. I imagine that there will also be some time period after which they must release the money anyway.

I would have most certainly looked around for other online payment options after that occured in the first place. I know they are prevalent on the web and most people use them, but if you keep on getting screwed by them, it doesnt make sense to keep using them.

Maybe someone on the forums is a lawer and can offer some better advice...?

Im really sorry to hear about all this!

Well I just went crazy providing them with all the shit they wanted... Last time I called them & gave them hell & that didn't work so I won't do it again, I'll just submit the stuff do what they want & hopefully they unlock it... If not I will be refunding quite a few recent orders

I assume last time was your $800? They still dont have any right to keep your money that is tantamount to theft! They should still unlock this money, whether you were stern with them or not.

Another option is not keeping any money in the PP account ie transfer funds in and out as required. That way they cant screw you over?

Ill be making an order with you soon, as discussed in our PMs, so if you like Id be happy to make a CC payment instead...

I'm setting up something else... Just going to use PayPal for purchases from now on... Because they rock for that... As a seller it's nothing but a big pain in the ass! eBay too! Fuck them all! :D

This time only 30$ was in it which I refunded to the buyers explaining why they can get their stuff now...

This is what I said to all those who bought something from me in the past 12 hours that I couldn't ship.

I apologize greatly but PayPal has closed my account & in the process not allowing me to print shipping labels... So you can contact me & we can work out a different payment processor.

Thanks for your understanding

Guess PayPal won't be raping me on fees anymore :na: I can now say PayPal owes me a Total of 1031$ woohoo they win the best scammer prize :bday:

Re: Warning about LPF member "pr0jkt"

Horrible situation--if PP limits your account usually that means it is frozen for 6 months/180 days. PP is clearly not a good way for sellers.

You have very little recourse with and international sale as well --it is hard to chase someone in another Country.

All the business on the planet was done without PayPal before PayPal--is not as instant as PayPal but you see that the instant part is a illusion mostly anyway.

You can always use the old fashioned way---money is still money when it's money---you can request that a buyer send you a Money Order or International Money order or a personal check and wait for it to clear. With a little more risk you can accept credit cards but those have problems too---without a signature a chargeback will not be resolved in your favor so you need to get a signature faxed with copy of drivers license and so on if you do not know or trust the buyer.
