You really have to know who you are dealing with. I haven't been cheated as long as I know the people I am purchasing from. I am very wary of claims that don't seem to be possible, or harvested diodes, unless I know the person I am buying it from. As far as I know you can't buy an NUBM44 that hasn't been harvested. So, for those diodes, I tend to stick with members here that I know.

It really makes you appreciate DTR after dealing with ebay cheats selling fakes, I don't believe that they are the least bit confused about the difference between 445 and 465, they just flat out lie is what I think..

Exactly--ebay is many times random idiots that don't know any better and/or scammers very often--what do you expect on a selling format like ebay which invites same?
Especially the Chinese sellers who would be selling ping-pong balls if they were not selling laser diodes and don't know anything about them nor do the ppeople they got them from , generally.

This guy selling the M140 diodes as 465 nm admitted to knowing they are 450 nm, gets caught, gets a neutral but won't let anyone try to curb his dishonesty, lists them again that way in defiance.

Any vets here want them for free? Buy them and give appropriate feedback for dishonesty and I will pay for them. Just don't use a selling account, he threatened to buy a legit item from me and neg me for warning buyers they are 450 nm.

2 (Two) High Power M140 Laser Diodes 4.2W 2.1W ea. Blue 465nm | eBay

i'd do so but i'm blocked, doesn't want someone who knows his listing is dishonest to give feedback again. Dishonest online ripoff artists are my new pet peeve and this guy is particularly nasty, he deserves more sharp corners knocked off his cube to make him more rounded.

If someone wants to help only PM me about it, no response here please.

This has got to be a teen selling on ebay, he just emailed me again, he thinks I am in the military because of where I am, wrong again.

From:critical_eye_studios

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Two-High-Power-M140-Laser-Diodes-4-2W-2-1W-ea-Blue-465nm-/322749749055

I asked this seller if the H140 he showed was 465 nm, he said he put 465 nm by mistake. I expected he would then update his listing with the proper wavelength, nope! I asked him later why he didn't update his listing, he said no one cares if it is 450 or 465 nm, all we care about is power. So, I bought it to put in a pointer (the price was right for 450 nm) but gave him a nudge to be honest by a neutral feed back. Immediate attack mode after that, he wrote to me how he will buy a custom designed purse my wife spent a week making to give negative feed back for her work in retribution. I blocked him, he, himself, cannot do that now. However, I keep getting these message from him, as above.

He doesn't get it, why would I buy something and give a neutral feed back? Because I'm trying to prevent him from ripping an unsuspecting buyer off because he refuses to list the correct wavelength, helping ebay be a better place. A small amount of help, but some. I only gave this guy a neutral so as not to affect his FB score, but I should have given a neg. I think he needs another purchase with a harder push to be honest by someone.

Well the Uneducated Moron replied to my friendly
heads up....
I don't understand you people! I'm practically giving these away and you weenies (or is that singular? This is still likely iulia or whatever the eff his name is) are complaining scout frequency. You know, in listing this again just to make you go bonkers because of your OCD. Youve gotta be going cucu-for-cocopuffs by now!

I responded with....

Whoa... Take a pill...
I tried to help you keep your listing up.
You will be reported to eBay for intentional false
and misleading eBay listings... Thanks for your
cooperation.

regards,
lasersbee

He thinks I'm another seller of these LDs... He can
obviously see my User Name.. He is not Accu.
He does however show traits of an uneducated
person wanting to show how smart he is... at least
in his own mind.

I did report the listing to eBay as fraudulent....

@ Alaskan... I had the same thought when I saw
his reply to what I deem a friendly message.

I have a 2nd account on eBay for our Pharmaceutical
products. I think I'm going to order a few from him
using that account.

[EDIT]
Just ordered a set from our other account... it went
through... To Canada the total cost was $39.06 USD.
That's the going price to leave this Moron a NEG
Feedback and drop his 100% feedback score...:eg:

It's a principle thing...............

I've had enough of that critical_eye_studios! He is in no fit state a seller of high power lasers on eBay. His responses are some of the worst I've come across from what I can see. Total BS and cannot even put ignorance in his favour. He's scamming those you don't know anything about lasers and should be taken down IMO. LPF ATTACK!!!

Alaskan, great idea for a thread.

No need to pay for them... I want to deal with
this guy on my quarter...:eg: But thanks for the
offer... ;)

You can use that $$ to try to get another LPF Vet
to NEG this Fraudster Moron... The more the merrier.

As soon as I know the LD's are shipped I'm going to
let him know that he is being watched by LPF and
that he has lost many, many potential sales here due
to his outrageous replies and his fraudulent 465nm
claims...

I would take this guy to task, but right now is not a good time for me. If he is somehow still around later into next month, I will. I hate these misrepresentitive sellers of laser parts. They do need to go as there are less informed members here who could be snagged by his BS.

Noticed from the now close auction listing that that seller does not allow returns

Looks like the guys diode listings have ended or were closed by ebay.

New one not up/posted.

For humor could we give each mission a name? Is eBay a target rich environment?
So far Laserbee has stepped up for mission "Wavelength Matters"
I did a quick search and found Barnett has a new account but his stuff seems legit and has my pass on the minor mistake. Neat laser kits on new account. I like the machined aluminum finned heatsinks.
So is there anymore low hanging fruit?

Either eBay shut down the listing because I or
others reported it... or he ran out of Diodes...:undecided:

He may have run out of diodes, but what he did for the last two listings is let it end when someone buys it, then put more of them up again the next day on a new listing.
