Based upon Jacobs conversation it seems as if I was right and it was a unintended typo and they are indeed attempting to bring themselves into a better light. Considering they probably sell more high powered lasers then anyone I'd take the stance of trying to help them educate people and conform their business practices to a more ethical means then just torch burning.
Obviously they are making an attempt for some reason. Seems like a good time to add constructive criticism to help them on that path as they don't seem to be going out of business any time soon.

Based on Jacob's conversation, they skip around the issue of clearly being wrong, and end the conversation when he asks about a valid past WL program.

Yeah, that's clearly an attempt at something alright.

The company has plenty of chances, they don't deserve anymore free help. If they want help they can pay a consultant for it.

So I went to look at the changed Krypton powers (750+ instead of 1000), and the chat window showed up in the lower corner. It was with Scott too.

Scott: Hi, thanks for visiting, please let me know if you have any questions.

me: you never responded to me about the free 5 mW core. Does WL still do that?
<~5 minutes with no comments>
Your customer service seems to be lacking, considering you are ignoring me.
Makes me wonder what kind of support I would get if I bought something

Scott: Sorry, but I did respond
I said it was not being done any more and most of the errors have been corrected

me: I see. I didn't receive that message.

I can only imagine how many errors were reported and how many lasers they didn't send out.

This seems like a pretty big one to me though

I don't think English is their first language. Not saying that's a good excuse. Chinese sites have a bad habit of making typos on key points and it's frustrating.

The other day a WL Fanboy Stooge bragged about WL's
$3,000,00 revenue. You would think they could hire a
professional translator if that was true...

What you mean is... They ripped off more buyers with UNDER
SPEC Lasers than anyone...

Have you ordered an Arctic or other Laser from WL in the past
2 years...

I have... and it was lie after lie after lie about stock items not
being in stock... and then the few Lasers that did trickle out
to customers were 25% to 50% UNDER SPEC...

Those are pure WL unethical lying marketing practices that
WL tried to shove down my throat...
The taste is still there... They are the only ones that make
me take my stance about them. They are not to be trusted
IMO...

They didn't help me or others by lying to us... Why should
we now help them...

Will they refund all those Underspec Lasers... I think not..

Not to mention that the Arctic and Kraptom are NOT FDA
approved... no matter how many times they falsely state
so on there site.

It has been documented that they are on the FDA's Blacklist
for Imported Laser Sellers due to there Lasers NOT being
FDA Approved....

I mentioned I was on the pre order list once upon a time. I cancled after months of run around and upset customers. I think their size presents unique challenges that may not effect other companies. Sucks that they are the first to experience such wide spread success in their market of choice and have made poor choices as they've grown. Maybe they'll work to do better in the near future.

Digital,
Are you a shill for Wicked Lasers?
Based upon a majority of experience by members of LPF (including me), the consensus of the forum is that WL is not prone to unintentional typo's, they are just a bunch of thieves.

Yeah... I'm getting the same vibes...

I wasn't before, but this....

Sounds like something straight from the mouths of marketing. I mean that's a nice backhanded compliment.

Besides, at this point they've had years "to do better" they still haven't.

Note he's also showing up in threads all over playing morality police.

Welcome back Dan/Steve/cmcmbvm/Scott/Su.

You guys are way too paranoid. Just playing devils advocate.

Just a small question....

You registered on the Forum on Non 22 2009....
Yet your first post here was on Feb 26 2011...

How did that come about...

Sleeper account ;)

Inactive accounts aren't deleted since they add to the forum numbers, but this means there can be tons of mystery accounts for WL to use.

I Had posted a few times before that. If you look around most of the info is here so I had no reason to post. I recently got back into lasers and decided to post.
I don't even own a wicked lasers product and probably never will unless their prices come down. Just flat out better lasers for the money out there. Besides their checkered past.

I actually just purchased a lazerer 400mw green which I'm more then happy with and would recommend to anyone over any comparable laser for the money and output power.

Your very first post in on February 26th of this year.

For a person who hasn't gotten a single laser from the company, you sure are positive about how good they are.

Quite an about face....
But that does make more sense....

One of the most important things about "certification"--perhaps more important than the certification itself--is that the certifying authority is reputable, so that the "certification" is trustworthy.

So when I see a "certified" laser coming from WL--with no outside certifying authority--well, that's about as valuable as nothing. I find WL so untrustworthy that they could even buy a Laserbee to meter with, and I would have my doubts that they hadn't just manipulated the meter itself, or outright misreported the results.

Wicked Lasers is the Fox News of laser shops.
