Phew! After a long 2 hour bike ride over to the UPS facility to pick up my laser I finally have it in my hands

I am very excited to finally own a blue laser and a rare wavelength!!! Ahh!!

Aquarius 473nm 5mW

First of all, I will show you the little power sticker that came attached to the box.

Nevertheless, here is the Aquarius inside it's (cozy box) *first time being opened*

The box feels heavy and is definitely made of metal as it's solidity can be felt.

Next will be the sticker on the Aquarius showing it is 473nm and not 635nm
I must also add the sticker seems a little slanted but that dosen't change its appearance at all. Just a small detail I happened to notice.

Quick picture of the inside.

The diode seemed to be a little twisted at first glance. I tried putting in the bat and it worked like a charm so I guess this is supposed to be? :undecided:

And finally!

My Rainbow

May I also point out the 473nm, even though having more power then the 635nm, it still appears dimmer. Im guessing this is because it's farther from 555nm?

Thank you all for reading this short and simple review. I have also wanted a *rare* wavelength and am amazed at the Aquarius. I will try and get a beam shot later tonight and see if I can make it my avatar picture.

Thanks,
Alex

What was twisted? Only thing you should see is a either a OC or crystal set.

Wow, that really is a lovely colour, or it certainly looks so on your camera.

Nice review. - the box is miles better than laserbtb's pens (although the hosts are fine ) which I'll review sometime this week probably.

I will try ZRaffle :)

One thing I forgot to mention in the first post is that this color seems to shift a lot more then 532nm. I even said in the manual let it heat up for optimal power :(

Wow....I wasn't expecting that. It takes a good 10 seconds for it to be at its brightest.

.y 473 looks more towards the green side to me than what the camera shows. Though that just may be perspective with the other colors present. Deffinitley cant wait until someone starts pumping out 1W 473 diodes :) My 474 fluctuates a lot. Temperature plays a big role

Lucky! That little beauty must have cost a lot!

It normally costs $449 but I snatched it during the New Year's Sale which lowered its price to $336:eek:, If it wasn't for that I could never have afforded it :(

You could always email Nichia and pester them for one of their multimode 1W 476's :shhh:
