G'day,

So im trying to free up some space for new builds and i have an bunch of lasers that use the same guidesman host, so im removing diodes and drivers and puting them into different hosts! It also gave me a chance to make the brass aixiz modules redundant and replace them with either copper or aluminium modules.

Now i bought his host off a guy off eBay easily 18 months ago, but it needed a bit of work that was outside of my capable hands so it was forgotten, then i saw rocket689 had done some work with this host.

First problem, the switch was part of the battery holder, so it had to go, so rocket689 installed a Mc'clicky into the tail cap!

Now theres enough room for a 18650 Battery!

He also made a battery contact board drilled the heatsink out to its correct size and polished the front of the heatsink! He did a really nice job thanks man!!!

Now for the build,

Parts List:

Flexdrive V5
Opnext HL63133DG
Copper 5.6mm Module
Copper Driver heatsink.

The assembly:

It has a unusually long copper heatsink that threads in to the host, you dont see that very often.

I first filed up a copper driver heatsink into a half moon so that it could sit nice in the main heatsink.

then i thermally glued the driver to the driver heatsink.

Then thermally glued the driver heatsink to the main heatsink.

Checked the driver was still at 300mA, then soldered the leads to the diode.

I had applied thermal paste between the diode and module too :)

Machined up a nice 27mm focus adapter:

What it looked like before:

Shes still making 170mW with a 3 Element Glass lens coated for red and 210mW with a 650-G-1.

Very happy now its in a nice host!

Thanks for looking!

Fiddy.

Very nice built. Like the Coleman host a lot. The clicky is very high quality and looks perfect for a red built.

Can´t wait to get my built with this diode :D
