These "Dildas" (old or new style) use an unregulated driver, meaning the mA changes somewhat in proportion to the input voltage (hence the 240+ mW results people are getting using 4.2v RCR2's in them) ...

As to the diodes, they're both 5.6mm but you'd be far better off buying a LOC or LCC red diode (or even the entire sled) through the forums for $12-15 and using that as a replacement IMHO, far less hassle and although Dave pushed his dilda to 400mW+ at just over 12VDC the LPC's, etc have a far more established track record and far more accurate info is available on them.

There is many webshop that sell them.
Senkat shop,modwerx,hightechdealz...

Long closed can or long open can is what they mean. They are the better performing diodes which are commonly used and are common in DVD RW's. Some sleds like the LG bluray 6x come with a long closed can LCC. This same diode is found in the dilda.

Deceptive? lol, administrator just so happens to be my favorite login. If there was a problem with it, I dont think it would have been availible. Considering you are the one dangling the 'banned' smiley, perhaps you are angry you didnt think of it first?
