Quick question for those of you that want to buy these... Do you want me to machine in the hole for the fan in the lid along with drill and tap the holes to mount the fan?

Hole for the fan and drill holes, yes please. I can tap them if it makes it easier for you tho. Thanks again!

This looks VERY nice! Excellent work!!

I do't know if you have already, but you might want to machine a few holes for the air being blown into the module to escape. If your fan is blowing into a space with no exit, the airflow will be effectively zero, which defeats the purpose of having a fan.

for $10 I might get one of these boxes... Guess I'll just wait till I have some $$ in my PP, which might be a while, but you might want to hang on to one for me :) these things look great!

its not a problem for me to tap them :)

Right on, Thanks! Google checkout or PayPal, money order, etc... let me know how and when you want the funds sent.

On a side note:
I want to finally put one of my groove drivers to use. Am I gonna need to use a regulator for the fan? Or hook it up directly to a separate switch?...Anyone?

If you have not figured it out, the hole for a AiXiz module uses a 15/32 bit for a press fit.

the axiz module measures .470. I will be making the hole .4695 or .470 with a set screw to secure it, so it is easier to get the diode out if you would ever want to change diodes.

also im changing the design a tiny bit, to incorporate a heatsink right into the box where the axiz will go into. ill post up a pic later of what im talking about.

will do. i was going to wire my fan right to my switch where my 9v goes to the driver. i am not sure if this would be a problem. the fan im using says : 12v dc / 0.13A / 1.56W / DC Brushless Fan.

9V supply to the fan will work it will run at a lower rpm but still sufficient for cooling, one thing, you may want to give the fan its own power it will drain a battery rather quick from my experience ;)

Ahhhhh k. gotcha then ya no problems. Alot of computer parts suppliers sell fan controlling modules and they control the fan rpm by changing the voltages and if i remember correctly anything over 3v and as high as 14v will run the fan :)
