Okay I asked my biology professor, basically it's to do with the cones as mentioned above. Put simply, the cells it stimulates overlap the most aroudn the boundaries of what we consider green so it's where most cells are stimulated resulting in what we perceive to be a brighter beam or dot.

Or something like that. I'll be honest it's more the personal satisfaction of finding out what caused it, than acutally knowing why is what I wanted.

and the green ones are overstimulated because of the nature being green, as I said ;)

Because our ancestors needed to know when the fruit was ripe

Dave -- You're nutz.
But Nutz aren't green when ripe !

I think it was to find out if certain female places were safe to mate in. I wouldn't want to mate with something dripping green & yellow liquids, would YOU ?. rob

Key Lime pie and honey... Sound good to me.

Nah, TJ.. and for two reasons:

1) the n00b had already had his question answered to the best of the responders' ability (and Daguin actually is very close to right.. I wouldn't call his post a "joke". Evolution is the reason, and our eating habits drive our evolution to a large degree)..

2) They are not repeat offenders by the handle Tech_Junkie.
