Need Some Advice--Buying 50mW

Hi
I've decided to buy another green laser. The problem is I'm not sure which company to buy from. I was about to buy either the mini focusable or classic from Lazerer, but have recently read reviews about them, and it seems they're going downhill with their customer service and shipping. I've now considered Rayfoss or O-like, and any others you can recommend. I've already read reviews on companies but there is some conflicting information. I just want a decent 50mW, not underspec. I was also going to purchase a battery charger and a pair of safety goggles with it too. I just wanted some insight on which company would be easy to deal with and have a decent quality laser. Thanks, help is appreciated

Hello,
I'd offer to try getting laser from rayfoss because nowdays I hear quite great feedback about this company, they have great customer service also I read somewhere on this forum that they gave free glasses/tripod because one LPF member said to rayfoss customer service that will make review, however rayfoss had some negative feeedback in the past...Also you can test your luck by purchasing from ebay over spec 5mw laser.

I got mine from wallbuys. Still on their way here, I shall post a review when I get them. There was a discount cupon also, check the discount section of this forum for more info.

I think that's the best 50mW they sell.
Most reviews say they sell lasers pretty much on-spec and if they aren't, they'll fix them.
I've bought from them half a dozen times and it's been pleasant.
Shipping time can vary from 10 days to five weeks in my experience ,) but normally it's around two weeks.

I would steer clear of Rayfoss for now. The reviews I've read on them aren't as good lately.
As fas as Lazerer, I think you might do just as well as O-Like.
I haven't read of a decline in their quality or service but maybe someone else will chime in on them.

EDIT: As far as Wallbuys, I don't know anything about them.

Ok thanks, I have some questions on the shipping with o-like. Does everything I order (laser, batteries, safety glasses) arrive in the same package? And do you have to sign for the package or have to pick it up at the post office? I'm still thinking with maybe going with Lazerer, as that's what I originally was going to do and I've still been hearing some positive things about them. So i think I'm down to either lazerer or o-like.

It might arrive in the same package or it might arrive separately.
You should e-mail them and ask, they are friendly ,)
They've been known to ship separately when asked.
You don't have to sign for it or go to the post office, they deliver to your doorstep...providing you live in the USA (and many other places).

Yes. Lazerer is also pretty nice and you cat get a power chart so that you can see that the laser is actually putting out 50mw.

Ok cool, anything else I should know before I order it? Also under "charger" there are two options: "universal charger" and "universal charger (+$3.00)" What's the difference? And there are three different battery types, which should I get?

I imagine the + means better quality so I suggest you get them.
Looks like there are two different 18650's to choose from and one 16340.
It's really personal preference. I like having a single cell so I'd get the 18650 instead of the two 16340's.

The 18650 is rechargeable and the goggles are definatly fine for 50mw of use. When you get into 500mw or above you might want glass, but for now, you're fine!

its the same charger, its just a glitch or error. the chargers chinese companies sell are ABSOLUTE CRAP! dont use them, they DO and WILL "explode" or litterly melt inside and are a HUGE fire hazard. lately they have been really crappy! if you are interested in a quality charger contact me, i might be willing to part with my backup charger now that i bought a new nitecore

Oh wow ok, thanks for the heads up. I think I'm going to order it tomorrow probably. I don't need to worry about anything with shipping or customs, right? Am I good to go?

depends where are you located? NO MATTER where you are DO NOT buy batteries with your laser. you increase the chance of it being confiscated by 200%
