Hi. I want to buy a very powerful and cheap laser that I will only use for burning stuff. I have researched through the forum and it helped me understand enough in order to find some great models:

(It has a great review here http://laserpointerforums.com/f52/review-dx-200mw-green-modules-45010.html; I hope they send in Romania)

What model would you recommend for me between these or maybe on other website or on this forum in the BUY/SELL section?
There's only one thing that I need from my laser pointer:
- to start burning at once w/e it's focused on, let's say a DVD. I don't want it to have a long "warming up" phase until it reaches its potential.

A second question is: what's the difference between a focused laser (fe Rayfoss) and a normal one (http://www.rayfoss.com/pro_info.asp?id=1569)?

If u´re only interested in burning things it´s the cheapest way to go with a 200mW red. They are about 30-50 bucks. Otherwise buy the 200mW 2 in1 Green laser star torch You can see some pics below. But my cam REALLY sucks, but it gives u some first impressions.

If you are still non-satisfied at all, --> THIS <-- button will be your friend :can:

Edit: To answer your second question
pics --> foucused in, focussed out
("focussed in" dot is much smaller in rl)

Buy yourself a "DILDA" laser, change the batteries from the 3 volt to the 3.6 volt, & replace the lens with a Hi-Power lens, specially coated for RED lasers from either LARRYDFW or JAYROB. I did this with my "DILDA" & went from a 'stock' power rating of 165mW's to 295mW's for very little cash & 3 to 5 minutes of time to implement the changes. That's a 130mW boost of power, for little cash & little time............. rob PS, I believe that the 'DILDA' laser is the 1st one in your list of choices.

red 200mw is cheap, it burns things
green is much more expensive.

he could buy a 808nm, or any other infrared laser diode, why aren`t you suggesting it? I think it`s cheaper even that red, I`m ok ?

PLEASE point me in the direction of a decent laser for under $50... I was aiming for a $43 "200mw" green laser module from DealExtreme and made the order but after reading all the reviews about bad shipping times and customer service I ended up canceling it and haven't found a decent non-overpriced module yet.. I'm looking for just the module that is ready to "plug and play", I have hosts ready. You seem to know your sources well, please help me!

Don't bump old threads, please. If you didn't notice, this thread is over two years old. I would probably post your question in a new thread.
