Tell me what to do!!!

I received my Panasonic battery and I put it in my laser and it won't work because it is too short. I compared it to my stock 18650 battery and the stock one is a little bit longer than the Panasonic one. What the hell do I do? I don't want to order another one.

Put some alu foil in the tail cap.

Tail cap of the host? What's the difference between regular foil and alu foil? Like what does alu stand for?

Aluminium/aluminum foil, just abbreviated. And yes, the tail cap of the host.

Another spring or a bigger spring would bridge the gap and keep the battery steady. "Alu foil" would also bridge the gap but depending on how you make the connection be prone to shorting out the switch and you'd have to open the tailcap to turn the laser off.

You could also just stretch the spring, taking care of course to hold the base so you dont pull it off the contact point with the switch. Two thin pliers should easily do the job. :beer:

put some neodymium magnets as spacers... i do it whenever i have that problem & it works

longer batts are commonly called 'buttontops'-- AFAIK the 'button' is the tiny board that makes them 'protected' batts.
you do NOT want to add foil or magnets w/o making sure that you will be NOT creating a short.. Laser makers must make the battery 'tube' long enough to take buttontops as you can add something to make connection, BUT there is pretty much nothing you can do if the batts are too long to use.
