Good evening everyone. I apologize if I sound nieve in my question, but this is my first visit to these forums.

I have scoured the internet, and am basically looking for a laser that can go a distance of about 100ft. I would expect this to go that distance in a room with an ambient lighting of about 75 footcandles. I do not care about the color or focal point's intensity, as long as it is visible from the person holding the laser pointing it onto a dark blue piece of cloth. The diameter of the beam does not matter, as it is only being used as a pointer.

The other issue I am having is trying to find the correct size of the fixture I am looking for. I need it to be battery powered, and circular, with a diameter of about 2 inches and a width no greater then 2 inches. Basically the smaller the better, as long as it can travel the distances I prescribed above. But more or less like a shirt button shaped laser, but bigger obviously.

Can anyone offer any advice? Can I provide any other information that can help with answering my question? Thank you all in advance.

i don't really know how bright 75footcandlse are. but i would say a 100mw green laser. try www.o-like.com it is a reputable company around here. there are many different green stylse to choose from

since you will be indoors you should get the appropriate safety gogglse that are designed for green lasers. 100mw is very powerful and dangerous. but since you do want to see the beam the goggles will prevent this. so you will have to use common sense. Try not to stare at the dot.

I recently bought a 40 mw green laser from Optotronics Green Pen Pointers

and its more then enough for outside use, I can easily point to stars, even with lights around, for indoor use I suggest something a tad lower in mw because 40 mw, to me, is a bit bright indoors.

likely 5mw will be fine for you, but I suggest the 10mw

A 2" circular (disk-shaped) laser you will not find commercially available. It will probably need to be custom made. I think you could get a cheap 30-50mW module, a heatsink, a small mirror, a battery and switch and construct the laser yourself for about $43.

You size and shape limitations does not really match a green module.

Perhaps you should try get hold of a 5mW red module and mount it in one of those flat led lights intended to be stuck to a surface with double adhesive tape.
