so what are your opinions?
(p.s sorry if there is already a thread on this, i couldn't find out via search bar)

Never seen 473 or 589 or 445 though I've seen a led the approximate color as 445. 405 would have to be my favorite choice. My eyes seem to see it wayyy better than most people. A 470mw looks as bright as my old olike 200mw red did at night with the beam being even more noticable then a red. I just like seeing the freak color. Can't wait for a watt of it one day.

I really like 445 .. but then I too don't have exotic colors. Anyway if you want colors, pick a prism on sunny day and you can search for your favorite one for hours.

589nm or 405nm. Other wavelengths are kind of hard to differentiate without a reference. 473nm for instance. By itself, you'd say it was a blue blue. You also say the same thing for 445nm by itself. You don't perceive the difference really unless they're side by side, but then it's kind of drastic. 405nm and 589nm/594.3nm are all unique enough to be easily identifiable

I probably have to go with 589 right now... even though I don't have it yet. I can't wait to get mine though!

i got a prism, i like 589 and cyan (not sure if its 473 or 488)
what does 685nm look like? seems like it should be hard to see.

Actually, CNI does. They aren't handheld, but CNI does make some that are lab-styles.

As is ava. I like the 589 best too... but if I could get one, I would want a 605 +/- 4 nm as it w/b even more orange... I just can't see much orange in a 632.8 or 635nm also love 593.5nm, but most lack the mW's... Next in line, I like any Blue laser... yeah, kind of opposite, I know, but those Cub Scout colors really stuck w/ me LOL! ;)

I kind of disagree... the 445 splash looks purple to my eye, so I think it's Indigo is easily spotted, so different from 473 as I see than... Also, I too would die for a nice 500nm and thew more mW's the better too! One more thing, I can not always tell a bright 593.5 from a <25 mW 589nm as these look, (to my eye), more orange as they are dimmer and more yellow as they are brighter... -Glenn

Yes, I order the GLP 589nm or the GLP 593.5nm in my GB's for $250 + PP and Shipping! Both are rated low (like 1-5 mW), but they usually do 4- 8 mW in 593.5 and 2-3 more mW, (i.e. 6-11 mWs in the 589nm) ;) _Glenn
