New to lasers. Just ordered a 100mw green laser. I need an 18650 battery. Brand? Protected or unprotected? Best place to buy?

lighthound.com is great, as for brand AW is very reliable.

18650 go with the panasonic 2900 or 3400mAh. Protected is best but some lasers don't like protected circuits so unprotected is fine as long as you don't drain it below 2.7v

I also like the Panasonic cells.

Sanyo is another good brand.

Stick to the name-brands.
