I purchased mine from Craigslist. I did see those posted though.

Al

I've got a tube that looks just like that. I got it for about that price, too, but the output of mine is ~1.3mW.

Here's a comparison of mine to a dpssl. It's only a hair more yellow - you probably wouldn't notice it unless the two are side by side.

Ahh that's a nice picture. This gives me a clue of what color mine will be now :D. That is hardly noticable, but having a green DPSS (even if it isn't too yellow) is pretty damn cool. Thanks for the picture and info. :D

I just watched that auction, big congrats!!

I believe the same seller just let go of a yellow and orange as well.

Just scored a 6 mw Melles Griot (brand) for $10 (red) no PS, but the seller agreed to a full refund if it does not fire up on arrival.

^ does anyone else see that the beam from the dpss laser turns a nice shade of yellow shortly after the aperature, then changes back to green for the rest of the beam. The laser must be doing something weird to your camera

Yeah I saw an auction fro mthe same guy in which he sold a 612nm HeNe for ~$250!!! SUCH A GOOD DEAL!

And good job on yur 6mw HeNe. Thats a steal for a HeNe tube that strong :D. Hope it works.

Lol I think I see what you are talking about, and I'm pretty sure it's just that there's a wall behind the beam instead of shadow. To me, it doesn't look like the beam is changing color, but I guess I can understand why you see that..

Lawl, that's because laser beams are not opaque. You can clearly see the area behind the beam at the point you're referring to is illuminated by a light bulb while the rest is in shadow.

What does the green HeNe look like next to some 488? even more lime than 532 I imagine?

I dunno but I'll take some pic's of it next to my 473 Oceanus if you'd like.

I can probably do 405, 473, 488, 532, and 543 in one shot. Maybe tonight.

Here ya go. first is a $100 camera, second is a $30 camera. The cheaper one rendered colors better, but both incorrectly render the difference between 532 and 543 probably because the power of the DPSS pen is >10 times the power of the HeNe.

Those are beautifulllll (specially that argon!). In the second picture, I can see a SLIGHT difference in color between the 532nm and 543nm, but hardly. They still look great though!
