mine the beam is pretty much invisible and doesn't get plastic even warm, so I'm guessing its about 15-25mw. which is annoying since I payed for the super overspec. :/
Ill probably buy 2 more at some point and see if my luck is any better.

I don't know if you know but i have gotten a 25mw laser to etch black tape (no cutting) and smoke leather. You NEED a focusing lens and you have to get the focus "just" right. I use a small convex lens and it works fine.

You can buy a jewelers loop and it should focus your laser real good :) (magnifying glass's work too!)

Yup, jeweler's loupe will work great:eg: and they are pretty cheap from dx, dino, etc.

I was actually thinking at one point of mounting the 10x lens from a loupe in from from of a 300mW 405nm laser to create an "etcher" but than ended up selling the laser to lotus darkrose.

A word of caution though... there are reflections. Goggles are a must.

I think next I am going to add some violets.. I'll see later whether there will be a "kinda" overspec and "super" overspec differentiation after I test some of them out. I leave for college again in 6 days so likely there won't be any new activity up until then but we'll see!

They're the typical pen-type hosts that you see all over the place! I'll get some pictures up eventually if some people don't beat me to it ;)

I've ordered one kinda overspec and one super overspec. When shipping them out, could you do me a favor and label which is which? Just for future reference :).

Super overspec at $19 sounds incredible to me! I should say great, (I bought from swimminsurfer before btw, so, I know it's good stuff!) I may need a few... -Glenn

Pic#4 is accurate. The rest aren't. The tip on this new batch is a little bit shorter than the standard newwish pen.

This batch apparently (although it may just be chance) has the bell curve shifted to the left a little. Although the average of the 10 I tested at the beginning was around 70mW it looks like the actual average is closer to 60mW.. Bad luck batch :/
