How about pics of the build or is selling your only intent in this fine community forum.

Nice build by the way.

Thanks. I will make photos of the build with my next one which will have the new PCBs.

How can you not afford an LPM but you are selling $400 lasers?
Because Ive only made 3 of these ones and all the profit has gone into proper tools and making them better.
For example, the most recently sold one's profit will be used to get tiny PCBs made so I don't have to spend 5 hours making a surface-mount circuit on prototype board. :)

After I sell about two more, I will probably invest in a laserbee II. Unless I find a more affordable power meter like the DIY kit here: http://laserpointerforums.com/f39/diy-lpm-kit-40-now-calibration-76671.html

Also, I too believe duty cycles under 5 minutes are unacceptable. :)

Gotcha, I definitely understand how profits go straight to tooling, that's where all mine goes... And with machine improvements and tooling, it's a bottomless pit...

Edit:

Do you machine the heatsinks for these yourself? Also, you may want to consider building or buying focus knobs for there, with high power, you don't really want your fingers hanging out over that tiny aixiz knob into that beam. I know a guy who can make you anything you could need. ;)

I get my heatsinks made locally (5 minutes from my house haha) in New Zealand at a machine shop. They are almost mirror polished when they are done anyway, they do a good job. I use AutoSol car metal polish after that and if looks amazing.

Plz tell me what focus adaptor you recommend, I shall add it to my next lasers as I have made a blister from this one when I was careless.

Green laser
What laser is that?? I want a high power green but they are expensive. >.>

This is a really impressive build, I definitely like the features you have there! I am not a big fan of the Maglite hosts, but a ton of people are so you should have good luck.

You may want to show in a video how the alarm works....I feel like some people may not be so keen on an alarm if it starts up right after you stop using it or something....maybe it is on a timer? If so, how long? Just a few things I am curious about and others might like to know as well.

Thanks,
Isaac

PS- +1 for the nifty build! Get with Ehgemus or one of the other machinists on here and design a host that will look even more professional and pack those features into it....would be rad....just a thought(apparently I am full of thoughts tonight, pardon my opinions)

Thanks for the reminder. I forgot to add that. The alarm will sound after 1 minute of having the laser armed (keyswitch) but not firing the laser. You can cancel the alarm by firing or by disarming it.

The MagLite is certainly not the coolest looking host available. The only reason I chose it is because of that massive head for the heatsink (gives like 8 minutes of duty cycle, still waiting on DTR giving me a recommended maximum temperature). Also, it is a well-known top-quality brand of flashlight with very good quality machining, smooth threads, and no machine marks on the body.

Ofc, I give the option to anyone who orders one (that isn't made yet) to have any features removed such as the alarm.

He doesn't have an LPM, but seeing as he is running a 9mm diode at 2.1A with a 405-G1 lens, you can probably expect roughly 2.5W.

The LPF member that was going to buy this has come low on funds and can no longer afford it.

So... It is for sale again!! Get it while you can!

It's not the sexiest laser I've seen but the safety features are brilliant and it looks like it would last forever. Great job.

Thanks

Main reason I chose the MagLite is the quality, the massive heatsink space, and all the room for my custom features.
