Maybe I'm being obtuse.  I'm going to get very "basic" here, because I don't think I'm expressing myself clearly enough.

You say you are getting just the diode and show a picture of just the diode, but show the box an entire sled comes in.  Also, the important picture would be the back side of the diode, not the front.  The back side of the diode will tell us if it is harvested or OEM?  This will also show if they have the square "bar code" on them?

This is a sled.  It has two diodes, the electronics,  and the optics with it.

This is just a diode in a heat sink, showing that it has the bar code and that it was harvested (not OEM)

Are you receiving entire sleds or just the diodes?

wow except for the first sentence and a half of the first post it almost looks like you copied sentences from my thread. i guess imitation is the highest form of flattery......

its oem, and once every thing is set up ect... it would take about 4 to 5 days to get to me bc i have a option to pay for faster shipping also im thinking to reach 30 to 50 sleds befor i order

lol this isnt a pre-order. its a gb. if it was a real PRE-ORDER that would mean youve already paid for the sleds.

my supplier misunderstood me, so the diode will be coming in a heatsink and in a anti static bag or u have an option of getting the hole sled for the same price

I will take one if you harvest the diode.

Then you´d be dumb not to chose the sled over the diode in the heatsink. Pulling the diode in the heatsink from the sled is easy, and you would get some nice optics, too.

I know I'm being pedestrian here, but I don't want you or anyone else getting ripped off here.  Something just doesn't add up here for me.

So we've established a few things, but some others are left.

Things we know:

1) The diodes are, in fact, NOT OEM

2) You are not harvesting them

3) Some unnamed person, somewhere is willing to pop them out of the sled for free

4) You have less than effective communication with your supplier

**********************************************************
Things still unknown:

1) Are these, in fact, from the PHR-803T sleds

2) If harvested, is the PCB still attached?

3) Does your supplier understand the need to (and will he take the precautions needed to) protect from ESD?

4) How is the diode and heat sink going to be removed?

5) If ordering more than one, will the individual diodes be packaged individually?

5) Will it be re-packaged in such a way as to protect the diode from both impact AND ESD?

*********************************************************************************

Here's why it doesn't add up for me.  Either you or he are being evasive and/or withholding information.  When tied down more specifically, the answer is, "(somebody) misunderstood".  The proffered explanation of the actual conditions of the diodes (shipped in a heat sink) doesn't match with your representative photo or description (just a diode).  The supplier is willing to sit down to harvest the diodes, repackage them, and dispose of the waste for free.

We have already seen one example of how PSX Boy treats harvested diodes (removed from heat sinks, PCB removed with heat, scraped into a pile for the picture)  I am NOT saying your supplier is PSX Boy.  I am saying that we have seen repeatedly in this forum that if these diodes are not treated gently they will fail or end up with their windows broken.

Peace,
dave

the supplier misunderstood me because he thought i wanted the diode in the heatsink, i wanted them in the complete sled so when i order it will come to me as a complete sled in a box

yes
2) If harvested, is the PCB still attached?
if i harvested them no if u like them on that's up to u
3) Does your supplier understand the need to (and will he take the precautions needed to) protect from ESD?
ill ask him
4) How is the diode and heat sink going to be removed?
i have antistatic equipment to remove diodes from there heatsink and static bags for the diode
5) If ordering more than one, will the individual diodes be packaged individually?
yes

I feel like I'm on a merry-go-round here

So you are ordering and receiving complete sleds in their individual boxes, from your supplier.  YOU are harvesting the diodes from the sled.  YOU are harvesting them (including removing the PCB) for free (or you are making a higher profit on complete sleds).  YOU are repackaging them and reshipping them for $16 each.  You will press the diode into a module for $5 more ($4 for the module and $1 to press it).  The total cost for a PHR-803T diode, without PCB, pressed into an AiziX module, is $21, total cost, shipped.

Peace,
dave
