You know the more I think about it this might be the host I'd want with one of the 20mw 635 in it? Do you think that's double with needing a case positive for the ld?

If your asking me to build you it I wont do it. I wont mess with Low Power 635nm diodes. They are Just to Fragile and sensitive IMO.
Plus in this Host you will have to be very creative on finding a Case positive driver this Small.
