Default Micro Flex + 803-t Accurate output?

Ok, I have this phr-803t diode with the famous micro flex drive by DrLava. I measured the current with a fluke multimeter and I get 98mA. I measured by putting the meter in series between the laser and output of flex drive. I currently don't have the supplies for an official test load. Is this a valid and accurate way to measure output or does the meter interfere and skew the results?

Thats probably the most accurate method as your measuring current through the actual
devise in use.

If you look on Drlava's site for these drivers, the instructions show you how to measure the voltage across R10 to determine current. This is a more accurate way as it shows actual current to the diode, not the diode+driver.

So does 98 mV = 98 mA?

The reading I get does not make since. I get .009 - .010 volts or 9-10 mV.
So does 100 mA = 10 mV or is there something seriously wrong?
Thanks
-Matt

Yes 10mV = 100mA through R10

I still like this method for "fine" tweaks:

But i use a dummy load when i'm roughing around the mA's.

Thanks everyone! I am now confidant of the output.
I was using k-shells method when I found inaccurate readings. My stupid RadioShack meter didn't measure mA properly when I was messing around with LM317T regulators. - I would measure before the regulator 98mA, and after 82mA (with laser diode in series). This made me second guess everything I was doing. I measure with my Fluke, and it gets accurate readings. I measured the resistance of the RadioShack meter (in mA mode) with the Fluke and noticed that it is much higher than the Fluke. When I put the RadioShack one in series, it messed up the current flow.

I also noticed something funky. My batteries are starting to get a little low (I think). When I shake the laser around I notice that the dot cuts in and out at a fast rate. Is this normal? I do realize the flexdrive uses some fancy switching technology. I got some pictures!

Mine both do that! red and blu... I made several posts in the forum about that driver, and people acted like I was crazy. I couldn't get a good photo of it. I'm glad yours does it too.
