I've been checking out lasers and wanted to know anyone's comments or suggestions.

I was checking out the Survival Laser bundle for $190, have to build it yourself, very easy. Or a user here Yob that has one similar for $129 or $150 that is built already. Anyone with personal experience or comparison on these two? Both have great reviews.
 





They are basically the same exact design, and both sellers will offer you great service.

Survival laser offers a one stop shop for goggles (you MUST get goggles) and lots of other accessories, and well as options - colored heatsink, extension tube, etc.

Yobresal is very active member on the forum, and provides very personalized service.

Both are great sellers, with great products. Flip a coin and go with one, you won't go wrong.

Just want to reiterate, these are VERY dangerous lasers to play with, that will damage your eyes a lot faster than you can blink, and even looking at the dot from up close without protection is harmful. Get good safety goggles.

Thanks very much for the info. Sorry to ask about people but that's the only way I'm going to learn what's good, what's bad. I'm also pretty obsessive about safety, so I'm pretty careful. Right now I have a real cheap pair of glasses but looking for something of better quality. Something hopefully to handle green and blue.

@Opentoe: I just ordered from Survival Lasers, I am waiting for the laser to arrive, but so far so good... I like the semi-DIY aspect, but Yob was my other option, and honestly the reason I choose Survival was because of the options and accessories, plus the fact that I'll get to put it together myself ;). It depends on what you want-- DIY or premade.

If you plan on getting high powered greens, get the first set - blocks IR. If you plan on only using the green lasers outside, and never burning, and being paranoid inside, you'll be fine with the second set.

Hey thanks. I like the first pair and will probably order those. Having an IR block also is nice. Ya never know.
 
Yep. That first pair is the one I use mostly. Covers green, blue, and IR.
 
To be honest, I don't really use goggles with my green lasers. The very powerful ones I only look at beams indoors, and pay attention where I point, treating it no differently than I do a small handgun....

If there was a slip over version - I would get those, but even so, it does not look like the IR blocking goggles offer nearly as much overall light transmission.

Mostly I wear goggles when bug zapping with my 405 or 445's and when lpming:eg:
 
True. Those multi wavelength ones have pretty low vlt, so its hard to even see the dot on a wall from a green less than 100mW or so. But they do protect very well.
The dragon lasers ones are better for seeing the dot, but don't block IR.:cryyy:
