Recently I acquired a yob built 650nm, 260mW, Aurora C6. It's powered by 2 CR123A Li-Ion rechargeable batteries. It is typical yobresal quality. Power output as measured on my LaserBee II with a pair of Juice brand CR123A batteries is 260mW with the supplied acrylic lens. Running on one UltraFire 18650 Li-Ion 3000mAh battery, output is a meager 117mW. I believe it will run a very long time on that battery without overheating. In the future I plan on getting a glass lens to see what difference it makes. Overall, I'm very happy with this build.
Here is a beamshot in the misty fog. The beam is dimly visible at night without fog but you have to be very close to see it.
Here is a plot from the LaserBee II. Average power is actually higher, I started the plot before I turned on the laser and stopped it when the thermopile reached zero.
I can post the 18650 plot if you're interested.

With an UltraFire 18650 3000mAh battery, lower output but gaining power as time goes on. I suspect it would run cool and for a very long time with this battery.
Another beamshot, no mist or fog tonight. Beam visible as well as dot on the tower.
