Hmm, now I am able to light sharpied matches near instantly when I use fresh alkaline cells. I need to invest in a few lithiums. :)
 





I know this post is old, but sorry you got some lemons (even if it it isn't mode hopping, that AVG is very low compared to many x100's). I got a lemon Lyra-G. It was mode hopping to TEM01 (although it stopped now) and there was dirty or whatever BEHIND the lens. Laserglow is going to help me exchange it for a new one but damn, I hate having to wait even longer (the lemon arrivived after 3 1/2 weeks) for that crisp TEM00 5mW dot :(.
