x-series 125mw ordered!!!!!!

Just an update for everyone, i've downgraded my order to an x105 becuase the 125's won't be in stock still for a while and it'd most likely end up on my doorstep like 2 days after we go upnorth to out cottage and we're going to be there for 2+weeks and the last thing I want is my laser sitting outside for 2 or more weeks.  So i've downgraded to an x105 that will be TNT shipped 1-2 days and asked Magdalena to pick out one of there highest performing units.  It's also nice because they've lowered their prices like 2 times since I ordered ( competing with DL) so i'll get like 100 dollars back and only lose maybe 20mw, but who knows because they seems to under estiamte their lasers.  Oh well time will tell.  I'm sure i'll be happy as this will be my first high powered greenie and I doubt i'd be able to tell the difference from a 105 and a 125 anyways.

oh wow i never realized how cheap novalasers is
and the case is just so hot.
I emailed laserglow the other day asking if they sell their Aries case separately. (the new one that looks like the nova case cept sized for an Aries)

Anyhoo, unfortunately they only sell them to previous Aries owners ($19.99 + $9.99 shipping)
I want one for my new hulk thats coming in I think Friday. If any old Aries owners is buying some of these cases let me know, I want in! ;D ;D

AHHHH!!! I got a defective x105!! NOOOOOO why me. It can only burn at about 6 in. from aperture then the beam gets WAY too big. At about 6-7ft the beam/dot is more than a half centimeter! I haven't owned many greenies, but I know the beam/dot shouldn't be that big. I'm so upset I really wanted to get a good laser, but I guess I was a little impatient in getting it, Oh well I'm sure Magdalena will make things right, I emailed her right away.

why me??

I thought you were getting an X-125 ??? That sucks about that laser - not what I would expect to hear :(

Yea Senkat I was going to get the x125, but they'll be instock while I'm out of town and I don't want the laser sitting out side for 2+ weeks, so Magdalena said they had a few x105's in stock and so they sent me one of those, but it can't burn unless it's at like 6 inches, like I saw your x85 vids of it lighting a match at like 3ft, good luck doing that with my x105! Anyways I hope I can get this whole thing straightened out before I got upnorth on the 29th! Nova seems like good people, I'm sure they'll get me another laser right away

IF you ask nicely enough - they may even send you one before they recieve yours - I dunno how they do RMA's though.

LOL that's exactly what I asked them!!! I was thinking to myself even though it doesn't burn this beam is amazing I don't want to have to send it out, wait until they get it, then have them send me another. So we'll see, like I said they seem like a great company and i'm sure they'll make things right.

I measured the dot at 35ft ( one of the longest spans in my house) the dot was an 1 inch!!! Senkat I remember on your x85 review at 100ft your dot was 1 1/4 inch, so I know that mines very bad!

Well - you MAY be a little bit okay, if the dot doesn't get any bigger after that, if you know what I mean ? That is why you have to measure divergence at such huge distances....because it may spread out to one inch at thirty feet, and STAY that way...in which case, that one really would have been BETTER than mine ! Make sense ?

yea it makes since, I guess i'll have to measure it at like 60ft, i'll bring a mirror down or just go outside, I'll post back on the size of the dot once it's measured.
thanks Senkat
even if it's got better divergence I still want a new laser, it can't do any burning un aided, the beam is just too big after about 6inches from the aperture.

at about 65ish feet the dot is just under 3inches like milimeters under 3 inches. So it kept on getting bigger!

The aluminum ring that the front lense is cemented to, does turn you know. I'm not saying it turns easily or anything, but it's just a threaded aluminum ring. Which means that if you have the balls to do it, you can focus the laser yourself.

OUCH...that DOES suck then.

that's what I was thinking and it wouldn't even bother me if it stayed small until about 15ft, but like i've said a few times it can only burn at like 6in. and even there it's burning is pitiful, the red laser you gave me burnt way better, and the vid of your x85 or even greenies x65 seem to have better burning that this one. So hopefully I can get a new better one soon. Everyone said matches about 3ft and in and balloons at around 10ft, I can't even come close to either of those!

So Nova replied today and kindly asked me to measure the divergence according to Laserglow at http://www.laserglow.com/instructions.jpg so I did it and at 1meter the dot was 5mm bigs and at 11 meters the dot was 30mm big, so I calculated that the divergence of my laser is 2.5mRad! So I emailed them with my findings and they did state in their email that weather the laser was out of spec or not that they would exhcange is for a new one, but this one is clearly out of spec. Oh well, I'm sure the replacement will work great! :D
