hey guys i just got a phone call from a mate telling me he has 8 or more Sony 16x dvd burner drives for me FOR FREE. and also 5 harddrives, i like to get the magnets out.
so i think you guys might expect a few Red builds from me sometime and my awesome blu ray build, and i also have a loc diode.

Those are <100mW 780nm. They're not that impressive.

1x on a CD is 150KBps, 1x on a DVD is 1.3MBps, and 1x on a BRD is 4.5MBps. So a 52x CD-RW diode should theoretically be the same speed/power as 6x DVD or 2x BRD.
