Will you be able to see this on a target.

It has a 5mW Wavelength: 635-655nm. I am new to the forum and was wondering if you would even be able to the dot on a paper target during the day? And if so, about how far do you think? it claims 500 yards but i seriously doubt it. Thank you for any help.

In daylight you would not be able to see a 5mW laser at 500 yards imo.

At night you could probably make it out. It really depends on the divergence of the laser (how big the dot gets over distance in this case) and what you're pointing it at, as well as ambient lighting.

It's not an expensive laser... try it out and see

Even though i could not see the actual beam, do you think i would be able to see the dot on the target?

You definitely will not be able to see the beam with a 5mW red laser.

As for the dot, at night you should be able to see it quite far.

You're just going to use a laser at 500 yds? How big is the target?
