Hey everyone, :)

just getting into this whole laser thing, have been reading up on the forums here and watching countless YouTube videos about certain lasers and modifications.

I have some plans for my own laser which involves a different module.

I live in Australia and since we have the lovely ban on lasers over >1mW I was planning on doing the following, just wanted to know if it was a good idea.

I have bought this cheap laser from e-bay,
'http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Green-2000M-Sky-Laser-Pointer-Pen-Visible-Beam-1mW-/310326874030?pt=AU_LaserPointers&hash=item4840ec4fae'

since it is 1mW, i figure, no problem.
And I am planning to replace the module inside with this 50mW module...(?)

Is this a good idea? And better yet, would it work? I know modules can be imported so its just whether or not it would be the best way to make/get a 50mW green laser.

Perhaps a better module or?

Thanks in advance! :thanks:

Hey Mate

$129.90 for 1mW thats about $80 to $120 overpriced with a host that looks like that.

If it doesn't have to look like a pen you can use the module you suggested and mod it into one of the hosts they sell in the Laser Pro Shop section.

Or contact a member on here in Australia to make you one.

One more think those ones which say 1mW could be higher which would be good for other countries but my mate got one from a similar seller as it was 1mW and it turned out to be 30mW and got confiscated by customs. Just a Warning.

That is so weird.
I bought it last night and it was only $12.99. My e-mail confirmation also states $12.99. Increasing demand perhaps? ahaha.

Yeah in time (if it works and all) i will probably invest in one of the more 'flashlight' cases, just a bit unsure of how to install that same module into the hosts. I'm sure theres a tutorial somewhere :)

Thanks for the heads up. I hope that doesnt happen! I only want the 1mW but I guess it'll be whether or not they test it at customs.

Thanks for replying :D
