Hi guys,

I'm pretty new to laser pointers and I was REALLY close to purchasing a general use green laser pointer (5mw) from WickedLasers. Little did I know, I started reading reviews here and there and getting on laser forums to find out that people have recommended other companies to buy lasers from.

The two options I am looking at right now are either a regular 3-5mw green laser, or 15mw for more precise star gazing, etc...

Can you guys give me your feedback on which of the companies you recommend buying from. They are the following:

WickedLasers
Laserglow
Optotronics
NOVALasers

I'm having a hard time deciding which one would be the best purchase, regardless of price, I just want a good quality green laser that is very precise and doesn't look like those crap Z-Bolt lasers. I don't want to burn anything, this will be used just for pointing.

Hope to get some good feedback from you guys since you're more experienced in this stuff than I am. Thanks

Zaki

If you are looking for a decent 5mW laser, the Core is actually considered to be a pretty good choice.

I haven't personally tried them, but SKYlasers.net offers green pointers here:
http://www.skylasers.net/laser-pointers/green-532nm
The hosts are interesting because they actually have a key lock and aperture switch, thereby making them FDA approved for higher powers.

You can find a review for a red pointer (which uses the same host) here:

I'm actually considering the one from Skylasers as an option. I've read alot about the Core, I guess I just started to debate when I saw alot of forums and websites recommending Laserglow and NOVALaser over WickedLasers. Not sure why, but most of the reasons stated that they are overpriced for what you get, whereas the other sites lasers are sold at more decent prices and actually give you the REAL rated MW

save yourself some grief and dont EVER buy any lasers from wicked unless its a CORE.. thats the only laser they ever made that was worth a crap.
