I just ordered a green 250mw e3 from wicked lasers. It broke on the FIRST DAY. I was so pissed. It came with a nice holster, I put the laser in the holster and then in my pocket. i took it out to try it during the day and i noticed that the switch was literally gone, it fell off and I still cant find it. I made a video of it, crappy quality because i had to hold the camera but you get the idea. I sent wicked lasers a complaint so I hope to have them send a new one.

"It works, you gotta poke it with a key or something, it's fine, but it's annoying as crap" lawl'd.
 
hahaha yeah. I ended up using my keys to press where the switch is to use it. before it fell off, the switch seemed pretty high quality. it required a bit of a firm press but i never expected it to just fall off. I'm still waiting for WL to respond.
 
This is why I hate pen hosts, they're far too much trouble in almost all technical aspects, for a supposed trade off in imaginary practicality.

I don't see that up there as practical :p

I'm pretty sure that Wicked's inferior production technologies aren't very helpful in the matters.

I would suggest improvising your own DIY switch, it can't be that hard to find a bit of plastic to glue in there carefully. It's faster fix than waiting on a replacement (you will MOST likely have to send this laser back, which costs a kidney) which may, or may not be approved.

About ruined aesthetics, well, ask Arctic G1 owners how their switch looks like.
 
For the same amount of money i could have gotten a krypton model. Unfortunately i really do love pen styles because i like having something small to put in my pocket. The kryptons are too large for that use, and i dislike the key combos for the switch. I want to eb able to use a lser on the spot, rather than setting it up.

I balled up a bit of tin foil and placed it in the switch hole, then put duct tape over it. it works fine, but its still bothersome. I'll keep messing with this design.
What happen to arctic G1 owners?

I hope I get my money back or a replacement. I would have to strongly think about sending it back because it would take all summer, and i really wanted this laser for the summer.

After seeing some usage, paint on Arctic button would chip away, eventually all of paint would be gone. It's not an isolated incident, it's a standard.

For both replacement and money back options, you're going to HAVE to send it back.

That is, if they don't decide that it's your fault for breaking it in the first place and refuse communication with you.

Wicked doesn't have the best of all custom services out there.
 
I actually have Hepatitis B, so legally I can not send items back in the mail. Online companies hate me for it lol. I can call them out for refusing me service because of a medical condition and say it infringes upon their 1 year warranty. ;)

Main transmission of the virus goes through contact with blood or bodily fluids containing blood. So unless you accidentally cut yourself while handling a laser or something, I don't see how you can be forbidden from shipping stuff.

You'll have to forgive my ignorance in this matter, I really haven't had much, or any at all actually, experience in dealing with these things.
 
Its more of a "just in case" kind of thing. Blood particles sometimes come out when I sneeze, or maybe I got a scrape i didnt know about and it came in contact with the product. benefit of the doubt, I can't send the item back, that way theres no risk of any kind of spread.

Or I could be a jerk and send it in anyways. catch my drift? :undecided:
 
Ahh right. Well, we can all hope that they're all at least that much human to ship you at the very least a replacement button you could just install in yourself. I think that would be fair.

But just for future reference, stay away from Wicked lasers. They are not a whole lot popular here.
 
A replacement switch would be wonderful, I guess I could just wait on that and it wouldnt be so bad. WL seemed pretty reputable, thats why i went with them. I have a ton of crappy lasers that break permanently, so i wanted to buy a nice one that wouldnt.

which kind of laser would you recommend over WL?
 
i always send my return shipping covered in my own blood, just in case :D

I said "Highest quality", not cheap. In the end, you get what you pay for.

If you're looking for budget lasers, well, a year ago I'd reccomend Lazerer.com, O-like.com and Rayfoss.com but these companies are going downhill fast.

O-like.com might still be worth a look since I personally never had any issues with them, but then again there is an increasing number of members having problems.

I have bought 3 from o-like.com, a 532 50mw, 532 150mw, and a focusable blacklight 150mw laser. the only nice quality was the focusable one, and the other 2 greens broke. the 150mw green had bad issues with the screw towards the back cap, it refuses to work so i solved that by having to manually bend a paperclip in it.

for higher powered lasers i didnt like that o-like had, keeping in mind I'm one of those dummies who doesnt like the big lasers.

I suppose its true that you get what you pay for, maybe one of these days I'll have the money for a high quality 1000+mw 532.
