So it strikes me as a little odd that as much as this forum preaches about the horrors of Wicked Laser, we have advertisements for them...

I understand ads pay the bills, but I just can't help but feel like we're being a little hypocritical...

Somebody could get the impression that they are a reputable laser vendor. :tsk:

Oh well... just wanted to throw that out there...

The same can be said of any number of less then reputable companies, not just WL.

Bottom line is they are PAID FOR ads, not endorsements.

I see where people could get confused, but it's still their responsibility IMO to research things just a bit.

Anyone who spends even a few minutes researching companies such as Wicked, Warn, Bob, Awesome, etc, will see what the facts are.

A nice line in bold that says Ads Are Not Endorsements and/or Recommendations by where the LPF logo would be great, but I doubt that will happen as I suspect the advertisers would not be too happy.

ARGH CURSE YOU SEARCH! I promise I looked for "Wicked lasers ads" and didn't find any posts... oh well
I know I know... Hypocracy is just a hot button for me....

But if money is the bottom line, hell, lets put porn ads on here and make some real dough! Wait, you say that crosses the line? AH, so there IS a point where the money isn't worth lowering your standards. I thought so! :)

Nobody could surf the site at work/in public if it had pron ads all over the place. :twak: Not because I find it offensive, but because people reading over my shoulder would.

Work productivity would probably go up though, so there's that...

LOL... same here... I was just making a point :)

Its simple. Avery (admin) has an open and honest forum. People are allowed to place ads here, but we are also free to say what we think about any company we want. Example is he just Stickied my "33 Reasons not to buy from WL" thread. This is probably one of the only web site that allows the members to openly criticize the sponsors. If you notice, in some of the other Companies sales threads people are openly bashing that same company. Free speech goes both ways here, and thats a good thing. People are free to buy ads, and we are free say anything we want about them.
