Weird, as for burning what are you trying to burn? if its paper that wont work at all its white so it reflects the light, to test unscrew the aixis module to where its almost falling out then take some black plastic like a floppy disk or something and find where it is the smallest point, once you find that it will burn like crazy. Also i know some people just shined it at their hand to see if it works but that wont work eaither your skin seems to reflect red light for some reason, you would have to put a sharpie dot on your hand to feel it.
