Sup LPF,

I've been looking to get a 532nm +- 100mw laser, but they're all expensive. I'm sure there's one for around 40-50$ (which is my budget) and I did find that on O-Like, but they've gone downhill from what i've heard and I won't feel comfortable ordering from them..

I thought maybe there's a member on this site who's selling some? Please do let me know and help me out :)

You know most laser 301 532nm are pretty good-60mw-100mw. Other people here on the forum have more experience but check out the laser 301 and the laser 303 on eBay. There usually about $10-$15.

They have a 100mw 532nm just around your preferred price. You could also wait for SFLasers.us to get back in stock.

They are cheap indeed, but the output isn't advertised on the 301 and on the 303 it says 5mw. BUT, 5mw can't burn anything at all, so they're lying and selling huge overspec lasers? What output can I expect on these?

Could you link me to it? Because i've seen the site before and it's nowhere around 50$ for a 100mw 532nm when I checked.

Yes, you can expect them to be about 50mw through 100mw. They are rated at 5mw to get through customs and to be allowed to sell them on eBay and use PayPal.

What about the price/quality? Why are they so cheap? There must be some kinda con about this thing.
 
I've owned them. They are a bit cheapy, I don't prefer the 301 or 303 because they have a push on off. They work great and are super brightm ajustable focus and can light a match, however, they don't have IR filters meaning some of the light you can't see which can be hazardous sometimes.

It is awesome and can light matches under best focus.

I'd rather have an on/off switch too. Did you measure the output on yours? If not, how many mw would you guess it is? What about it's duty cycle?

Never bought it but it's from Laserbtb which is good. I was actually thinking about his one my self for my pocket.
 
Laser 301s are garbage. Sure for their price, they are ok. But everything else about them is bad.

You will probably get about a month out of it before the severely overdriven diode pops.

532nm 301s are even WORSE though!

Yes but is it 532nm? If it is then you are very lucky. Those Chinese lasers basically achieve those powers for so cheap by literally turning the potentiometer to next to 0. Diode's are EXTREMELY overdriven. It might work ok for a bit but NOT with dpss. Those crystals don't like heat or wavelengths out of their range, which those poorly heatsinked components produce a lot of.

You get a whole lot of mode hopping, and then a significantly weaker laser over time.

Not a good idea to buy one.
