i have a cache of cr123a batteries i need to use.

i found the best deals on these pocket micro led flashlights(product description in url):

Size: 67mm (length) x 22mm (diameter) or 2.64 inch (length) x 0.87 inch (diameter)

Micro FlexDrive DC/DC Converter Portable Laser Driver

i want to use the Micro FlexDrive and put a 405nm hd-dvd diode in one of them. just don't know which one you guys would prefer to use. both appear to be waterproof :) thanks

Both look fine, I guess it just comes down to whichever one you like best as far as looks go 8-)

only 2.64 inches to work in the 3watt version - will it be a bit too cramped?

edit: second thoughts on this after reading this post

according to that poster you only get 10 minutes of good peak off a CR123A.. I might have to lean towards 2x CR123As!

is that really the case? i thought CR123A's can be pretty potent

That really doesn't sound right to me. Maybe he was thinking of the 3v cr123a's rather than the 3.6 (4.2v off the charger) rechargeable cr123a's that you'll most likely be using. I'm pretty sure 1 cr123a will be perfectly fine. I'm using 2 to power a 6x blu-ray diode at 170mA on a non boosting driver, so I think you'll be fine with just 1 and the lavadrive @ ~100mA
