Which green laser should I choose

The Arctic is blue, the Krypton is green... what color is your laser?

I would suggest you get yours LPMed first. I've seen so called 1W Kryptons be anywhere from 150mW to 1.1W, for the most part they are far, far below 1W though, and at over 750mW you should be quite happy.

Also going up in power, even doubling it... not really all that much of a change. Consider expanding to a different wavelength instead.

445nm. Its a blueish color. Found it at the flee market for 50$ so I couldn't pass it up. Wouldn't buy from them new because I haven't heard the greatest of reviews and with my high power issue I can see why.

Yeah that's why I want to go with a 532nm DPSS. I was even considering something in the IR range but decided against it.

How much are you ready to spend? High-power 532nm are VERY expensive.

Well I'm currently deployed and will return with some money that will be burning a hole in my pocket so anywhere from 1500-2000.

1W of green, or approaching it, is very expensive. I have a Krypton, ~850mW, that I would like to sell.

Considering an 750mW+ one sells for 1k, and mine would come with all accessories, goggles, fully tested, etc, IMO $1200 is a fair price, although I'm open to offers.

By the same token you can get a ~200mW green laser for about am eighth of the price or less.

I suggest you taking a ~600mw from JetLasers/Skylasers and keeping the remaining money. 532nm is very visible and additional 400mw won't make a big difference.
For burning take a 445nm from a forum member.

They have a model listed at 700mw for 100 more over the 600mw version. But by what your saying that most likely wouldn't be worth it. I'm tempted by the krypton because I have a lens kit they will fit it along with a battery from my arctic but like I said I'm already having issues with mine( I believe it to be an issue with the tailcapfrom what I have researched).

Your first laser (this is your first right?) should NOT be a 445nm as they are extremely dangerous a 150mW 405nm or 100mW 532nm is much more fitting, if you really do want a 1W+ 532nm you should a wait a few years there is a possibility of a diode in the range of 1W at 510nm but don't get your hopes up yet.

Well, this one, from me, would come with the native lens kit.

WL lists it for $999 for the 750mW version... Spyder 3 Krypton Green Laser Pointer | Wicked Lasers

My understanding is, this would be your second laser, and you are active duty... so know how to treat firearms?

Most of the Arctics out there, the 445 Blue that you have now, usually run in the 600-800mW range. They do kind of suck in terms of power to price, but the good news is they have decent resale value, and the hosts themselves are great.

I have quite a few but they are all under <50mw. The arctic is my only one that has some decent power behind it. Yeah, I'm also a gun owner so I know that safety that is required for something like this. I'm glad it has the tailcap plus the smart switch. I couldn't tell you how many times I've had friends pick it up and click the tailcap not know what it could do if they flashed their eyes. I have a 520-540nm <5mW and i really like the color. Also is the one from JetLasers a DPSS?

But they are badly overpriced!

For 445nm... and a lot of other lasers yes.

They also tend to hold their resale value well though, when you get lucky. The problem with WL is that it's so much of a gamble ordering.

By comparison a JL or Skylasers will be better on a mW/$ ratio, and JL has nicer hosts. With exceptions though, they don't hit 1W.

Yup, the ones from Jetlasers are DPSS. No diode greens yet, except low power.

I suspect that when we do see the 510nm diode, we might find that like the 500mW Mit$u they have bad divergence/beam specs.

Does Skylasers have a website they promote their products on? I can't seem to find anything other than lower powered ones from different links.
