which dvd burner has higher power?

i have som questions about these dvd burners like:
1 what is the difference between a 22x and an 8x?
2 would the 22x laser diode have more power(mW) than the 8x, or is it the other way around?
3. As the #'s go higher (6x,8x,16x,22x+) does it mean that the diodes have more power?

are you considering buying a burner to take out the laser diode? it is way cheaper to go to www.hightechdealz.com and by the sled. or go to the group buy section. darkarmyofone is selling some i believe.

but to directly answer your question. a 22x would be the strongest
