Where to start?

Ok. I recently bought my first real laser pointer, a 50mW green laser pointer from DX, and it drew me in to laser pointers. I want to start building and collecting them as a hobby, but I don't know where to start. All I have as of now is a 50mW green and a 5mW red. what should I aim for first? Where do I start? Any help would be appreciated.

The best way to start is by doing some reading and research
on this Forum...
There is a wealth of Laser Information here... and it is FREE
for the reading...

Read the FAQs..... read the Tutorials....

And so I have. I got back from the library with around 9 books on Lasers. I mainly wanted to hear from you all. Like, what did you start with?

My first laser was a HeNe in the early 90's Welcome to the forum. If you just read here you'll probably learn more than you ever wanted to know.. about a lot of stuff. heh.

I'd proceed to get a 150-300mW red laser from o-like or rayfoss. Then a 500-700mW blu-ray. Then probably a 1 Watt 445nm.
Pretty much what I did now I'm building a projector. Someday I'll invest in a He-Ne also.

Or better yet, build them yourself instead of buying them.
