I've googled a little bit, but can't seem to find a site that I would trust for safety googles. I don't want to use eBay, and I already checked DealExtreme. They only seem to have sunglasses/and or Eyeglasses.

Can someone recommend a site for safety goggles?

I did look in the section for goggles, but only found people posting pictures of there own goggles that they already own.

Re: Where to buy safety goggles??

do these work for red/green/blue?

EDIT: nevermind, I see where it says on the site. And, do they protect not only from Lasers, but IR?

Goggles don't protect you from lasers, they protect you from light.Light in the wavelengths that you choose. You can order a pair of goggles to protect you against green and IR at the same time but it's probably gonna cost you a bit more.

Well, picture this:
Someone holds a laser and you're in the same room with your goggles on.
>Then suddenly, that other person throws the laser in your face for no reason -Thank God you were wearing the goggles!! ;D

Yea well excuse me , I didn't make myself clear enough. ::) They don't protect you from lasers alone, they protect you from any light.Even flashlights! :D If someone would throw a flashlight at your face, your eyes would be equally safe. ::)

Except if that flashlight is a just used WL torch. It will be so hot it'll melt your glasses before it even hits them.

Are those worth it if I decided to get into the laser "hobby". I am plannin on buying a 30mW laser, and than work on getting a 50mW and beyond.

You don't need goggles for a 30mW laser, just be careful when shinning it around. What's the point of wearing goggles when using a 30mW? It doesn't burn so all you'd be able to do with the goggles on would be to stare at the dot. :p
Like I said, just be careful. When you get tired of a 30mW then get a higher powered laser capable of burning things along with some goggles.

I did see a 30mW pop a balloon (at REALLY close range), but Im still tryin to decide for a 50mW with gogs or a 30mW without.

You should probably save up more and just get an 100mW or higher + goggles. At least that won't leave you craving for more power for awhile. :D

Yea though, when it comes to highpowered handheld green lasers, most people prefer the Optotronics RPL.The 400mW version is $1489 as opposed to the $1699.99 DL Hulk Ultra 400.It doesn't have all the safety features, which could be considered good. They're made by Viasho and are known to have better divergence than CNIs.And comes with a 12 month warranty.Besides, Optotronics has a very good reputation for great customer service and sending out good units.
