And clicking on an image link, usually the picture is too big for the screen. If I try and zoom out or scroll across in order to view the image, it closes the image. Same thing happens on a computer browser if you try and scroll after clicking on an image, although, on a computer its not an issue since the screen is big enough to view the whole image.

Not sure what phone you have, but mine you can zoom in/out with the volume buttons.

Yeah, if it's touch screen, you should be able to do that 'pinching' action on the screen.

I would assume that the pinching method would do this
