What's wrong with my laser?

First try a set of new alkalines. Every once in a while mine will mode hop for a split second if it hasn't been used for a few hours. If that doesn't fix it then you should send it in for a replacment.

Ok I'll try that but I just don't understand how moving that black piece messed up my laser.
