Whats this

That is a laser power meter, but can only be used for pulsed lasers measuring in joules. As we know, a calorie is a measurement of heat. Therefore, a calorimeter is a heat sensor (or a thermopile, as it says on the back of the sensor itself) Its hard to tell from the pictures but the meter may have a mW setting, as my meter here at home has settings for watts and joules. E-mail the buyer and ask, it could be a good deal on a power meter.

Well, a calorimeter measures how much joules something outputs. A classic experiment is burning a peanut and seeing how much energy is outputted as heat, and thus how much energy is in the peanut. Roughly.

So this is probably a similar thing, to measure the energy output of lasers.

So basicly as long as you keep the laser on the sensor, the needle continues to rise.Well you can still calculate average power by dividing the end result with time. :-/

Well, I got no idea. All I know is what a calorimeter is.

Fundamentally though, it measures output :)
