So, there I was. ****s de...wrong forum.

Oh yeah, the laser thing. Ok, so, I've been searching around for a first high-powered laser when I noticed something that piqued my curiosity and I couldn't find an answer for. Why does the 30mW blue spartan cost more than the 1W? I searched here so if the answer is out there, I couldn't find it and apologize for posting this.

A link would help.

I would assume, at this point, that the 30mW is a 473nm DPSS laser and the 1W is a 445nm diode laser.

Peace,
dave

I just looked at DL's web site and the Spartan is a 445nm (diode) and the other blue is a 473nm(DPSS)

I'm going to go with the 30mW one being a 473. It involves a complicated process of changing the frequency of light emitted from a pump diode twice to achieve the 473nm output. It's also highly inefficient, that 30mW Spartan probably has a 500-1000mW pump diode.

Yes links help a lot so we know exactly what lasers you are referreing to.
You are welcome I hope that is what you were wanting to know.
