What to do with broken CO2 tubes

The cat broke my first one. I ordered a replacement online. UPS broke it. They sent another one free of charge. UPS broke it. They sent a third free of charge. UPS broke it. They gave a FULL refund! I ordered from another source. USPS broke it. They asked for $50 shipping to send a second, which FINALLY made it intact!

So now I've become the proud owner of [highlight]FIVE[/highlight] broken tubes thanks to the tenacity of poor Chinese packaging quality. Two are shattered, and three just have the contacts (and the glass surrounding the contacts) broken. Does anyone have any use for them? Are the HR and OC mirrors worth anything? Should I feed my hungry hungry local landfill?

I had one of the same shattered tubes. With several, You might try an ebay offer on them. Learning glass blowing, high vaccuum, gas mixing etc, etc.... At least you got one in tact. Be sure to use water cooling.
I don't believe the glass was properly stress relieved after manufacture.

It just wouldn't feel right making a profit from someone else's loss - least of all on the site I got them from in the first place.

The trick is buy at least 10 of them at one shot and they'll usually make it ok. Strength in numbers i guess!
