Im really confused about the whole thing with CNI lasers. Nova Lasers, Dragonlasers and Techlasers all sell pointers that look exactly the same and are commonly referred too as CNI's. And then their is a website called www.CNILaser.com advertised on this site. Are they the ones making them from the start then selling to Nova, Dragon and Tech? What/who is CNI?

CNI makes all of them ;) even laserglow ;D in fact laserglow is one of their main resellers :P

viasho makes the RPL's from optotronics

Yes.  The differences come in customer service, having the lasers tested and guaranteed, and (formerly) being able to buy just one laser at a time

Those companies are NOT manufacturers. They are distributors.

Peace,
dave

So basically all those company's selling "CNI" type lasers are essentially selling all the same thing.

So X-100 from Nova 209$, Viper 95 from Dragon 199$ and Infinity 95 from Tech 170 are all the same thing so why not go for the cheaper Wicked Lasers branch off?

And since the actual Wicked Lasers does not sell CNI's then do they make their own lasers?

The more reputable distributors test the lasers for output specs and only sell those that are at or above spec.  Less ethical distributors just ship out whatever comes in.  After that, the customer service difference comes into play.  ANY laser could go bad.  The less ethical distributors have more lasers go bad because they do not effectively test them ahead of selling them.  The difference comes in when it comes time to get warranty work or replacement done.  Can you get it done?"  Will they respond to you?  Will they replace it?

Also, if you have a problem, would you rather work with Jack or some person who doesn't speak English and only wants to get you to "give up" because it's too much trouble?

CNI is NOT the only Chinese company making lasers. WL simply buys and/or has its lasers made by one of the less known laser manufacturers.

Peace,
dave
