WHAT is WRONG with your 'wicked' lasers?

I haven't read all the threads on here by any means but see a lot of 'wicked bashing'. So this is a thread for those who have had bad products / services or indeed good products / service from Wicked. Please no pictures except for those of lasers.

My experience:

Dogdy Fusion with lines through dot and underpowered.

Dead Core.

RMA a little bit difficult but in progress.

I'm very interested in getting real user reports of the problems.

Yours......

My experiences:

Fusion guaranteed to light matches unaided did not light matches unaided

Keep RMA'ing but you won't get a Fusion that light matches unaided

Questionable contests

Questionable moderating in forums

Questionable quality and prices

Questionable business practices

Mine's like it too

Wish I'd talked to you before ordering! Mine will hopefully be refunded!

Couldn't comment on that. They've said I'll get a free Core so who knows!

Seems a lot of that going on, doesn't exactly inspire confidence does it?

Quality to me is seeming like typical Chinese, they can make anything and then cut down to the lowest price, although that could be unfair, Wicked Lasers seem well made.

Will update you on that!

I bought an Executive Advanced 35mw - transaction went smoothly, I was extremely happy with the product (my first green pointer) - it performs at and possibly above spec since it will pop dark/sharpied balloons from a few feet unaided. Since I was satisfied with my purchase I recommended WL to a friend who bought a Pulsar and a Fusion. Fusion came DOA - asked for refund and WL kept avoiding his request. After several complaints he sent the fusion back to be traded for a Photonic Disruptor - transaction is still in progress however, he hasn't gotten the PD yet.

My WL Fusion performs very well! I guess that's what's wrong with it ;D ;D

I got lucky?

My experience:

My first green laser was a WL 55mW EXEC, it was over powered and worked great.

It took two RMAs to get a NEXUS that worked with no mode shifting.

Support just ignores questions they don't feel like answering.

Their so called "affiliate", TechLasers, is just a loophole used resell CNI's, and counterfeit lasers without being directly responsible.

They ban members of their forum for simply posting on another forum.

Something else I learned is that someone, I'm not going to point fingers, loves to post pictures of Asian people in pink clothes and name then Steve. ;D Honestly, that does get pretty annoying....

What is wrong with my core:

I'm sending it back out on Monday. Thumbs Down to WL!!!

I have a core and it works fairly well. it won't stay and hold 5mw to save it's life for more than 15 seconds. It drops fast after than and stays in the 2-3 mw range. Decent enough though for free.

Pulsar p150, had to widen aperture, clean corrosion off battery spring, clean outer case and make a decent contact to the can. After all this it NOW runs at 149mWs, it's not something one should have to do to a 200 odd dollar laser !!!

Fusion 125mW puts out 88mW MAX with brand new Lithiums and starts up in TEM01, I paid $500US for an 88mW CNI green laser !!!! Before I got my meter I thought it was doing at least over 100mWs as it would light a match once it hopped to TEM00, but I was wrong. I got RIPPED OFF !!!

Oh and yeah I just love hearing about how good their Customer service is......If it was that bloody good they wouldn't be sending this crap out to begin with. No amount of kicking a laser about whilst in transit can account for the pulsars problems !!! Nor the Fusion's for that fact IMO

I hear everyone, and Wicked, saying it's no problem, just RMA it, but that costs the Customer(you/us) extra cash they SHOULDN'T have to spend. Of course Wicked don't care if you RMA because with the prices they ask they have already charged YOU for their costs to get it shipped back to you in the price of the Laser. And if you don't know any better, or you can't test it's output, they get to keep the extra cash as cream. Not a bad scam huh ??? And because they are in china they can just say "SCREW YOU, what are you going to do about it ??"

At least this is how I see it anyway.

Thankfully I waited for about 5 months, after doing some research before deciding to purchase an RPL. Moment I went into LC, saw lots of people RMA-ing their laser, that put me off straightaway.

I imagine steve isnt too happy about his forum being filled with 'help theres something wrong!' threads ;D

Indeed!

I think he was trying to reply all RMA threads that they'll replace it for free.... lol

my core required tinfoil in the cap to work, minor complaint but they should have better engineering. my executive classic (15mW) started mode hopping, flickering, then died completely - 14 hours after it arrived at my house. sent it back for an RMA, have one that works now, but it is unstable as hell, going dim-bright-dim-bright-dim-bright. my pulsar is as fine as a pulsar can be - but the pulsar has inherent design problems - no voltage regulation, which is why putting lithiums in a pulsar will kill it, it has a fat useless beam that can't burn a thing unfocused despite being supposedly 125mW, and the button is far too sensitive n picky. it's so crap that it's going to senkat to essentially have it's guts ripped out and replaced - focus mod, new better diode, possibly voltage regulation.

as for the rest, their supposed laser "community" is a bunch of crap, used to be ok when you could mention "other laser companies" but now it's just a propaganda machine, posts about broken lasers or criticism of wicked lasers or tech lasers disappearing. their company has worse business ethics than microsoft, and that's saying something. they sell cheap overpriced crap, and their "affiliate" sells what look like great deals, but are almost certainly counterfeits, and are overpriced for counterfeits. their affiliate also seems to think that they invented orange lasers, invented heatsinking on lasers, and sell the only blue laser in existence that has a blue beam (go read the descriptions on their website of their blue and orange lasers). so, yeah, that's my problems with wicked lasers and techlasers.
