I'm living in the United States. I'm looking for the most powerful laser that I'm legally allowed to own with good quality and good reviews. I know that you can't have over 5mW, so I'm just looking for a laser of good quality that won't break easily. I looked at some reviews about WickedLasers Nano, but I saw that there were a lot of people complaining about the quality of it, so I decided against buying it. If there's any companies that will actually ship a laser pointer that's stronger than 5mW into the United States, that would be awesome. But what's the best quality laser pointer I can find? Thank you.

Plenty of companies will ship lasers over 5mw into the US. Sanwu and jetlasers are two that come to mind. Sanwu sells blue lasers up to the 5W range if I recall correctly. Just make sure you get some safety goggles if you go that way.

Agreed on all points razako, buy from Sanwu. 5W should be more than enough.

I'm looking at their website but it doesn't say which pointer is 5W. Are they all 5W on their website? If so, which would be the best choice for a good quality one?

Take a look at the spiker series, there is an option for 445nm 5W. For added power (+500mW or so) you may want to choose the G7 lens. :)

Re: Proper 16340 Batteries for my 445nm 4W Laser

Should I go with multi or single mode?
If you live around children or idiots who could misuse the laser, go with multimode.
Otherwise, go with single mode. :)

Thanks! And the prices look really nice for these lasers. I'm glad you told me about Sanwu. Thank you. But let's say I want a lab-grade laser that reaches 20W or more, where would I go to get one of those?

No problem.
For something like that, you would have to shell out massive amounts of money; CNI is what I think of off the top of my head. Typically the only cost-effective option for something that powerful is to build one yourself.

Thanks. I'm definitely going to look into Sanwu though. Do you know who they ship with? USPS, FedEx, or UPS?

Pretty sure it's HKpost->USPS (slow) or DHL (fast). Go with the expedited shipping, you will not regret it.

Alright, thank you. How fast is the expedited shipping, exactly? Anywhere from 2-5 business days or sooner than that?

I believe it's 3-5 business days, depending on your location. :)

Thank you. The price is actually really nice. $360 approximately for the laser with the highest upgrades as well as safety goggles. Now all I need to do is buy a tripod and make a setup so I can have some fun and see what it can burn through.

How old are you ?

Do you know how to use google? Google "lab laser 20W" Don't forget 20W of what? Specifiy a wavelength.

Try using the forum search function also.

So, do you have any experience with lasers more powerful than 5mW?

5W of 445nm could be instant occular/eye damage that is permanent. Blindness, total and complete in less than time than the human blink reflex of 0.25 seconds. So fast that you have no possible way to make a correction or avoid an accident once one is initiated. OVer and done faster than the blink of an eye.

You can google YouTube and see what a 5W laser can burn other than your eyes.

You need to study up on laser safety---high power lasers are not toys. Even much lower output power are incredibly dangerous.

See as a starter: http://www.lasersafetyfacts.com/resources/FAA---visible-laser-hazard-calcs-for-LSF-v02.png

Have a look at and study: Laser Pointer Safety - Laser safety technical information

A little knowledge of combined with imagination/imaginings about lasers can be an very dangerous--an Rx for a serious accident looking for a place to happen.

Here buy a 20W 447nm blue laser from CNI $14,500 see:http://www.ultralasers.com/proinfo.php?productid=836&cat=3&page=1&featured or better yet get a CNI 20W 532nm green for $31,200 see: http://www.ultralasers.com/proinfo.php?productid=836&cat=3&page=1&featured

I think it is more like '5W of 445nm would be instant occular/eye damage.' Agreed, that 5W is not a toy by any means.
