How much is the loss in the amount of laser energy during transmission across great distances?
:san: :san: :san:
How the amount of energy required for the laser beam travels to the surface of the moon?
How will energy beam on the surface of the moon there?
thanks

When measuring the distance from the earth to the moon the beam is about 4 miles in diameter when it hits the moon which sounds huge until you realize you're trying to hit a target about 3 feet /1m square from ~240,000 miles/386,000km away. Out of every 10 million photons that make it to the reflector only one makes it back to earth. I'll leave the math to you. ;)
