Hehe, perhaps evolution will create something like that at some point.

Bioluminiscent creatures are plentiful, but so far it seems that this mostly serves the purpose of being seen, not emitting light to see with/by.

I guess there is little advantage to it. If there is it evolves - including fish with built-in tasers :D
