I know that there are another two recent threads about this same subject, but they were closed. Clearly the discussion about adds is over.
So instead of complaining about it, I just want to eliminate the problem from my browsing experience.
Few minor details;
I'm on a 27" screen 99% of the time... which means I have a ton of screen real estate.
I never blocked the ads (except mentally) and occasionally even click one out of curiosity. I figure by doing this, it also helps the forum out in a small way.
I realize that they are necessity, and so long as they aren't obnoxious, with crazy animations, flashing or sound... they don't bother me.
That is so long as they don't interfere with browsing the site.
I don't know how others use the site, but I tend to open a new tab to view a thread, and if it's from my control panel, I go immediately to the last page from the control panel, and hyper scroll all the way down there to get the to the last post.
So this statement:
Is far from accurate.
On any given page on LPF, three full SCREENS are taken up by ads and formatting, before any user generated content can be seen.
There are more adds on here then on any other forum I know of. Either that or they are far less intrusive there.
As it is, this is by far the most add intensive site (of all the sites) I frequent on a daily basis.
Sorry to say that I need to now start using an ad blocker. Since I'm sure a few of you already use one... Any suggestions?
